 The Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Tuesday achieved another milestone by giving 45560 government jobs in merely 30 months of its tenure thereby enlightening the lives of the youth.

 Handing over the appointment letters to as many as 586 new candidates in the Health and Family Welfare Department on the behalf of CM Bhagwant Singh Mann at Tagore Theatre here, Punjab Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr Balbir Singh described it as a historical juncture that will transform the destiny of youth. He said that this event reflects the commitment of the state government to ensure the well being of youth and opening new avenues of employment for them.

The new recruits included 558 Multipurpose Health Workers (Female) or Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANMs), 14 Ophthalmic Officers, six Medical Laboratory Technicians Grade-2, three Stenographers and five Ward Attendants (on compassionate grounds).

  Dr Balbir Singh, while addressing the gathering said that to further strengthen the Health Department, 1390 posts of doctors are being filled in a phased manner by the Punjab government out of which the advertisement for 400 posts has already been issued in the first phase. Apart from this, the appointment of 435 house surgeons is also under process, he added.

  Pertinently, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the health department has welcomed as many as 1910 new recruits, including 586 individuals who joined today.

 The Health Minister said that there were a total 986 new regular recruitments of Multipurpose Health Workers (Female) in the Health Department, of which, 586 will be joining the department today, while, 428 more candidates will also be given appointment letters shortly.

  He said that it is a matter of immense pride and satisfaction that all the youth have been selected for these posts purely on the basis of their eligibility and intelligence. Due to concerted efforts of the CM Bhagwant Singh Mann reverse migration has started in the state, he said, while adding that instead of going abroad in search of green pastures, the youth of the state are now working hard here to get the jobs.

 Dr Balbir Singh said that with addition of 30 new Aam Aadmi Clinics in the state, the total number of clinics have been reached to 872 in just 30 months, and over 2 crores people availed treatment from these clinics.
