Tarun Preet Singh Sond, Minister for Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Punjab, stated that he would make concerted efforts to boost the tourism sector in the state, adding that new initiatives would be launched to showcase Punjab’s rich historical, cultural, and religious heritage globally.
Sond was speaking at the ‘Diwali Night’ event organized by the Press Club, SAS Nagar, in Phase-6, Mohali, where he was the chief guest. The minister commended the efforts of the Press Club SAS Nagar and noted that the media plays a crucial role in society’s development today.
Mohali MLA Kulwant Singh, who was also present at the event, emphasized that the media should play a key role in exposing crime, safeguarding public health and safety, and preventing the public from being misled by statements from individuals or organizations.
MLA Sukhwinder Kumar Sukhi from Banga was also present on the occasion.
During the event, Press Club President Hillary Victor highlighted the club’s achievements over the past year, and the general secretary, Pardeep Singh Happy, delivered the vote of thanks.
Punjabi singer Satwinder Bitti entertained the audience with her popular songs, along with folk singer Bai Hardeep, who also entertained the audience ..
Among others present on the occasion included Prabjot Kaur, Chairperson of the District Planning Board, SAS Nagar; Harsukhinder Singh Bubby Badal, senior AAP leader and social worker; actress Poonam Sood, Punjabi singer Satvir Satti and Surinder Singh Roda, AAP leader in Mohali.
